The HULC Initiative was started to help small Cardano stake pools get through unlucky periods. Due to changes to the adapools.org website that make it difficult to continue filtering for the initiative's criteria, we have decided to move the initiative's wallet to the xSPO's Rotating Delegation initiative, that has similar goals. Join the xSPO discord to find out more and join the initiative.
If you are interested in what the HULC initiative was, you can read about it below.
Pools that received HULC delegation:
BETTR - epoch 347 - 372
CBROS - epoch 330 - 346
VOLCY - epoch 327 - 329
BOLD - epoch 321 to 326
NOBLE - epoch 320
With the HULC initiative (Help UnLucky Cardano pool) I am delegating a wallet to a pool that has been on a bad luck streak and encourage others to follow me. I know how it feels and I want to do my part to help give some hope to pools going through tough periods.
I will use https://apapools.org to filter pools with the following criteria:
Criteria 1 - less than ₳500k active stake - higher than that likely to get on average one block or more per month to stay afloat - smaller pools with bad luck need help
Criteria 2 - at least one block produced - those without at lease one block should join https://twitter.com/F2LB_Community to get there
Criteria 3 - at least 20K pledge - shows that pool is serious and owners have skin in the game
Criteria 4 - less than 5 % margin and no more than ₳340 fee - shows unselfishness
Criteria 5 - must be part of the Single Pool Alliance ( https://singlepoolalliance.net/ ) - pool owners that have pledged to only ever run a single pool to encourage decentralization
Criteria 6 - must have a public twitter account (how I like to communicate and will mention them when I switch the wallet)
I will sort the resulting list by luck and delegate to the one with the lowest lifetime luck
I will keep my wallet delegated to the resulting pool for 5 epochs or until they mint a block, whichever comes first. At that time, I will run the filter again and switch if another pool comes up with a lower luck.
My small delegation might not make a big difference by itself, but I hope to inspire others to follow along. I will be tweeting the lucky (actually unlucky) pool whenever I switch my wallet and mentioning the account of the pool along with their ticker.
